Why draw to distract?


In this program we center our sessions in focused observation and drawing. Through our creative process we learn to enter a state of flow, where our mind will seem to be empty of thoughts, but in reality, since we are intently observing and drawing, intrusive thoughts come and go. By approaching drawing in this manner we are training our brain to control the thoughts that pop up unexpectedly. In this state of flow we relax and after a session our mood betters and our anxiety lessens or disappears.


~ In a more relaxed state, we are better equipped to work through tasks or issues that had us anxious in the beginning.
